Every grade is fully tested and 100% functional — grades describe cosmetics only:

How pairing works⌄

Place both AirPods — your current one and this replacement — into the charging case.
Charge the case for at least 10–15 minutes.
With your iPhone or iPad unlocked and nearby, open the case lid. A setup card appears on-screen.
Tap Connect and follow the prompts. If the card does not appear, close the lid, wait 30 seconds, then reopen it near your device.

Need a full reset? On your iPhone, go to Settings → Bluetooth, tap the (i) next to your AirPods, and choose Forget This Device. Then press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds, until the status light flashes amber, then white. Hold the case near your iPhone and follow the setup prompts.

No. USB-C AirPods (A3047/A3048) pair only with the USB-C case (A2968), and Lightning AirPods (A2698/A2699) pair only with the Lightning case (A2700). Check the port on your case if you are unsure.
